Product basics
What is VOLUME?
VOLUME is an online tool for designing plywood climbing-wall volumes (not speaker boxes). You sketch an N-gon frustum in the browser, adjust sides, slopes, height, T-nuts and mounting holes, then order digital manufacturing files (print patterns, DXF, STEP, nests, and more).
Who is it for?
Routesetters, home-wall builders, and shops that need accurate plans or CNC-ready files without learning full CAD software.
Is designing free?
Yes. Open the designer, model as much as you want, and save projects in your browser. You pay only when you order export files.
Do you manufacture physical volumes?
Digital files are available now. Physical Baltic birch manufacturing is listed as coming soon — use the interest form on the home page if you want to be notified. Until then, cut yourself or send files to a CNC shop.
Designing
Do I need CAD experience?
No. Set side lengths, slope, height and wall thickness; the 3D preview updates live. See Design a climbing volume without CAD.
Can I work in inches?
Yes. Switch mm ↔ inches in the designer. Keep one unit system for the whole project so cuts stay consistent.
Where are my designs saved?
Projects can be saved in this browser (local storage). Ordering also attaches the design to your account order so files can be generated after payment.
What are stackables?
Stackables nest one volume on another with an inset seat for multi-level features. Billing counts forms in the project (see payment below). Guide: stackable climbing volumes.
How do T-nuts and mounting screws work in the tool?
Optional hole layouts: T-nut grids (grid or staggered) for holds, and mounting screw holes for fixing the volume to the wall. Details: T-nut spacing.
What wall thickness should I use?
Default and recommended for bolt-on holds is 18 mm (about ¾″) structural plywood. More: best plywood for climbing volumes.
Files and exports
Which file should I buy?
- Hand cutting: print pattern, corner marks, cut list
- CNC / shop: DXF, nest layouts, STEP
- Preview / mesh: STL

What is the full package?
At checkout you can pay for selected formats only, or choose a full package priced per billable volume — usually cheaper than buying every paid format separately.
Are any formats free?
Some catalogue items may be free (for example cut list or print pattern, depending on current pricing). Paid formats and the package show their EUR price at checkout.
Ordering and payment
How do I order files?
- Finish the design in the designer.
- Click Order files (you must be logged in).
- Choose formats or the full package, optionally apply a discount code.
- Place the order and complete payment.
- Download files from your account when processing finishes.
Do I need an account?
Yes, to place an order and download files. You can design first; login is required when you continue to checkout.
How is pricing calculated?
Prices are in EUR, generally per billable volume in the project. Stackable / nested projects with several forms are billed per volume, with optional free-volume rules when the form count is high enough (shown in the order summary). Format-only mode charges each selected type; package mode charges the package rate per billable volume.
What payment methods are supported?
Checkout uses the payment methods integrated on the site (card / online banking via the payment provider shown at pay time). If payment fails or stays pending, you can retry from your account when offered.
Can I use a discount code?
Yes, if you have a valid code. Enter it on the order files page before placing the order. Invalid codes are rejected with a message; successful codes show the EUR discount.
When do I get my files?
After successful payment, files are generated automatically. Status in the account may show that files are being prepared; when ready, download links appear for each format. If something stalls, contact info@volora.eu.
Can I get a refund?
Exports are personalised digital content generated from your design. Withdrawal rights for digital content are limited once supply has started — see the distance selling agreement.

Can I send files to a CNC shop?
Yes. Prefer DXF/STEP (and nest layouts). Tell the shop plywood thickness and hole sizes. See hand-cut vs CNC.
Account and support
I paid but downloads are missing
Open your account and check order status. “Processing” means generation is still running. Confirm payment completed; if it failed, use complete payment / retry. Still stuck after a reasonable wait — email info@volora.eu with your order number.
